Biltmore Candlelight Christmas

23 Dec

Wrap your head around this

Last night we had reservations for an evening at the Biltmore estate. The Candlelight house tour,an exhibition of Tiffany lamps and dinner at the Bistro in their newly added Antler Village. I have been to the Biltmore twice before, but during the summer and once a Christmas during the day. Let me tell you this is one for your bucket list. It is simply spectacular. It is hard to comprehend the scale on which the Vanderbilt’s lived in the 19th century. Biltmore is a small state, even now in its downsized form. Originally 125 thousand acres or over 200 square miles.

Welcome to my humble home

The Christmas display was sumputous beyond imagining. Keep in mind Biltmore is still family owned, so the antiques and art work have remained in their care. The display can raise envy in even the most experienced visual merchandiser. I know it does in me.

The rain last night did not affect our enthusiasm, we came through damp but happy after a sublime dinner. No photos can really express the live experience. The craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail in every aspect of the estate upholds the Vanderbilt’s reputation for seeking only “The Best” in every project they undertake.
